Dear Wednesday Teacher,
It’s not Monday, but it’s not quite Friday either. Wednesday is a tough spot every week, but it is particularly painstaking on the week before a long break…well…not as long as last year. It's still a break though, and we need it. All day it has felt like Thursday, but nope still Wednesday.
Another thing that makes Wednesday tough on a purely superficial level is its spelling. Every teacher understands the senseless butchering of the word.
At some point, you just kind of give up and say, “There are worst things in the world than a kid graduating from high school and still spelling the middle of the week as Wenesday.”
For example, here are a few things that are worse.
Graduating from high school and still being a really crummy person.
Graduating from high school and never learning how to see those around you more clearly.
Graduating from high school and feeling unequipped to face the world.
Graduating from high school without ever making it over the hump of any day.
Graduating from high school without a single person in your corner.
Graduating from high school with the misconception that life is all about you.
Graduating from high school thinking the world owes you something.
Graduating from high school without being an informed citizen.
And God forbid, graduating from high school without knowing how to spell Thursday either.
In case you didn’t know, Thursday is tomorrow, which means we are one day closer to spring break.
