Dear Teacher on a Break,
This is an open list of no-no’s for the week in case you need a reminder at some point.
Don’t….
-check any emails
- catch up on grading
-let your mind wander to cool lesson plan ideas
-look at your watch a single time
- eat a Lean Cuisine for lunch
- talk to students at the beach
- call or text a parent
-read any professional materials
-sing a nursery rhyme in your head
- set an alarm
-gloat to other adults who haven’t had a spring break since 1986
-go to any medical appointments (you have leave for that)
-tell anyone to catch a bubble
-wear a mask
-cry when you have to go back to work
-back up files on your computer
-even think about going to the school
-clean out your school bag
-click on Teachers Pay Teachers
-email admin about placement for next year
You have one job this week….only one. Be kind to yourself. This is the toughest year any educator has ever faced, and you have handled it with patience, grace, and love. Also, you only have a few (we won't bring up the number) weeks left of the school year. Sounds like a call for sand, sun, and celebration to me.
Any questions?
