Dear Done Teacher,
My Momma says, “Nothing is more over when it’s over than Christmas when it’s over,” but I beg to differ. She’s never experienced teaching at the end of the school year.
When I think of a teacher during her last few days of any school year a couple of “done” associations come to mind such as:
- A 4th of July sunburn
- A Momma when she’s had enough with mouthy youngin’s
- A teacher when some fool wants to ask can he take a nap in class
- A checking account on December 26th
- A hamburger left on the grill too long
- A spinning dial while waiting for a page to load
- A slow driver in the passing lane
- The last .1 miles of a 10k
- The missing match to the red sock
- The 4th day of Thanksgiving leftovers
- A favorite pen when all the ink is gone
- A close talker with halitosis
- A chronic smacker
- An ingrown toenail
And the list goes on…and on..and on….and on…and on…and on…and on…and on…and on…and on…and on…and on…and on…
Need I keep going?
